Questions for a friend

A friend of mine is 5 days late. She said she spotted for a day then is stopped. She complained of cramping, fatigue, and nausea. She did three at home tests and they are say neg. she called the dr and the dr told her to wait three months and if her period doesnt come to come in to the office. Is that normal for a dr to tell a person to wait three months for a blood test? and what is the chances of have false neg test and being pregnant?

 Tell her to go to a walk in clinic even and do a blood test. The sooner she knows, the better!

I was advised by my primary provider after 5 days late to take a HPT again a week later, if not positive then go in for a quant HCG. Good luck to your friend, I hope she gets the answer she's hoping for!

Umm no! That's crazy! I had to have hormone supplements cause I was a little low in progesterone. If I had had a higher deficiency I could have lost the baby. The supplements brought me up to a normal level. This was all detected when I was barely 5 weeks pregnant, so I was a week late. I'm not saying that stuff like this happens often, but when it does medical intervention is necessary. Waiting 3 months is not the way to go! 

Maybe they meant 3 WEEKS instead and just goofed? I hope!
